Pez Loco full-day fishing trips include a full breakfast, hot lunch, snacks and drinks prepared by an experienced chef. Your catch is filleted, bagged and yours to take home and enjoy.

Black Snapper II
(Custom 26')
A 26-foot modified Ocean Master ideally suited for inshore and offshore fishing. Based in Playa Herradura, she can also be brought down to Quepos. Contact us for trip and rate details.
Start your adventure on our custom 26-foot Ocean Master center console, built for up to six guests. The vessel is outfitted with a fighting chair, outriggers, and all the essential gear for a successful day of fishing. For added comfort, there’s a private restroom on board. You’ll have access to rods, reels, tackle, and lures. Live bait can be used if caught during the outing.
Bringing the family along? Kids are more than welcome! We’ve got life vests for them, though toddlers may need their own. Snacks, drinks, and lunch are included to keep everyone energized.

Is Quepos a good location for fishing in Costa Rica?
The fishing in Quepos Costa Rica is some of the best in the world! Our bait rich tropical Pacific waters are home to some of the most sought after Big Game Sportfish and hundreds of Anglers per year travel to Quepos to enjoy it’s year round fishing excellence!
When is the best time to go fishing in Quepos?
In general, Quepos fishing is great all year round, but depending on the fish species you wish to catch, there are certain months or seasons where different species are more abundant.

Is a Costa Rica Fishing License Included with the fare?
No. On the morning of your charter you’ll stop at the dock entrance and purchase a Costa Rica fishing license from the on-site INCOPESCA agent. It’s a quick and easy process.
The cost is $17 USD per person and the license is valid for 1 week.
Anyone aboard a fishing charter boat in Costa Rica needs to have a valid fishing license wether they plan on fishing or not.
What species of fish can be caught in the waters of Quepos Costa Rica?
In our Offshore waters here, you’ll enounter an abundance of Pacific Sailfish, Blue, Black and Striped Marlin, Mahi-Mahi and Yellowfin Tuna!
In our Nearshore waters you’ll find an abundance of Roosterfish, Snappers, Grouper, Snook, Amberjack and Mackerel
What type of fishing trips are available?
Pez Loco runs only Full Day Offshore Trips- Departure time is 7:00am and return time back at the dock is 3:45-4:00pm – You may request a later start time however the 3:45-4:00pm return time will remain the same.
1/2 day and full day Nearshore trips targeting Roosterfish, Snappers, Grouper, Snook, Amberjack and Mackerel are available thorough several of our carefully chosen smaller size partner boats. We’d be glad to arrange a good nearshore charter for you.

What do we need to bring with us for our fishing charter?
We suggest you bring the following items for your day at sea with us:
- Light clothing- shorts, t-shirt, light sole sneakers or boat shoes
- Sunglasses, hat, sunblock 50+ SPF or higher.
- Small hand towel and one or two bath towels
- Cash USD for crew gratuity at the end of your trip (15-20% is customary)
- A big smile and positive attitude ( the fish are attracted to it)
Do we get to keep the fish that we catch?
All edible species you catch such as Mahi-Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna and Wahoo, are yours to keep! Your mates will fillet, clean and bag your fish for you to take back to your vacation rental home/condo or hotel. You may cook it yourselves or bring it to one of the great restaurants at the Marina Pez Vela that offers a delicious”We Cook your Fresh Catch” deal.
All Billfish species ( Sailfish & Marlin) will be live released at the side of the boat after you have a chance to lean over the side and take a photo with the fish, We do NOT kill or harvest Billfish.
What's required to book a trip on Pez Loco?
A 50% deposit in required to book/reserve any date(s). The remaining 50% balance will be due in full no later than 2 weeks prior to your scheduled/reserved date.
We accept PayPal, Zelle, or direct deposit into our Chase Bank account in the United States or our Costa Rica account at Banco Nacional.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made by you for ANY reason must be made no later than 2 weeks ( 14 days) prior to your scheduled/booked reservation date to qualify for a full refund of your deposit ( less any credit card or wire fees) . Cancellations inside of 2 weeks(14 days) from your reserved date are NON-Refundable.
In the event WE need to Cancel your trip due to weather, mechanical or unforeseen circumstances, we will offer you the opportunity to reschedule for a different date, or we will issue you a full refund if you are unable to reschedule.
